Duniya,
which means 'world' in several languages,
evokes as much the international flavour of
the music as the diversity of the musicians
involved in the project. With the core band
consisting of drummer Thom Gossage, guitarist
Lubo Alexandrov, bassist Nicolas Caloia and
tabla player Subir Dev, the best of Indian
classical, jazz and contemporary sounds have
merged in Potter's compositions, while additional
instrumentation, including oriental percussion,
flamenco guitar, kalimba and Indian violin
played by guest musicians, further push the
boundaries of Duniya Project's
wide ranging musical scope. The album production
by Ramachandra Borcar (aka Ramasutra / DJ
Ram) successfully captures the individuality
of the performers and their interaction in
the studio.

Bansuri
is an album of classical ragas,
those long captivating pieces which form the
basis for extended improvisation in North Indian
or Hindustani music. Recorded in Bombay and
originally released on Alias Records in 1997,
the album also features the excellent Indian
percussionist, Kalinath Mishra, on tabla. Combining
tradition et originality, Bansuri
transport one into an enchanting realm of spell-bounding
melodies and intricate rhythms.
